Premium Foal, Foal of Distinction and Champion Foal! The birth of this foal makes Lhorna Doone a Special Premium Mare
I LOVE this filly! At our GOV inspection on July 29th, Dhanube received Premium Foal, Foal of Distinction and the Champion Foal neck sash!
Her sire, Destano, is by the Grand Prix dressage stallion Desperados, who won the team silver medal as member of the German team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where he also took eighth place in the individual result. Destano was the I-a main premium winner at the 2011 Oldenburg Hengsttage in Vechta. After evaluation of his performance record in sport, assessment of his first crop and current physical state, the stallion committee declared him the absolute "Number One" of four and a half-year old stallions in a field of strong competitors that were also presenting their first crops. He has produced multiple foal show champions, including the German Foal Championship. This filly is being retained for the Rolling Stone Farm breeding program- a third generation product.
Foal report: The first foal of the night. Jim had to be midwife while I looked on the cameras in our bedroom. I am still on crutches and hobbling around with my injured knee. Jim did a great job and this is a healthy tall very pretty filly. 5 days old- still a bit soft in the pasterns behind, so still on short time turn out. 4-15-13 new photos posted- what a beauty!
SOLD!Congratulations to Paula of PA!
Inspection and Show Results
2017 was a very good year for Dhanube. She and Cara were chosen as demonstration riders for both the Monika Theodorescu Old Masters clinic in NY and the Carl Hester clinic in Maine. In the show ring, she continued her successes.
2017:
Bucks County Horse Park I: 1st place Tr. 3 72.273%, 1st place Tr. 2 80.577%!. Bucks County II: 1st Tr. 2 75%. Thunderhead I: 1st Tr. 3 69.091%, 1st Tr. 2 71.346%. Thunderhead II: 1st Tr. 3 82.045%!, 2nd Tr. 2 78.846%. Region 8 GAIG Finals: 2nd Tr. 3 72.5%, 2nd First 1 68.704%.
She also did well in USDF Dressage Breed Shows: Memorial Weekend I: 1st 4 & 5 year old Maiden Mares 79.1%, Mare Champion, Mature Horse Champion, Reserve Grand Champion. Memorial Weekend II: 1st 4 & 5 Year Old Maiden Mares 79.5%, Mare Champion, Mature Horse Champion and Grand Champion. At low scoring Dressage at Devon, she was 5th in 4 Year Old Maiden Mares 79.6%, 4th in the USDF DSHB Championships 79.4% and 4th in the 4 Year Old Mare Materiale.
Dhanube did the Mare Performance Test here at RSF in fall of 2016, where she was named a Special Premium Candidate due to her very good scores in hand and under saddle. Score highlights included 8.5 for rideability, 8's for head, neck, breed and sex type, and free canter, and 7.5 for free trot, conformation, trot in hand, walk and general impression and development. She was shown quite a bit at breed shows in 2016. She ended up as the top three year old filly in the nation for the USDF (81.250%), and was reserve champion for three year old materiale (79.0%). She was the USDF All Breeds Champion in both divisions for the GOV. Her show results included Filly Champion, Young Horse Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at ESDCTA Memorial Weekend I and Filly Champion, Young Horse Champion, and Grand Champion at Memorial Weekend II. She was third at Dressage at Devon in the Filly Championship, 3rd in Materiale and 3rd in the Young Prospect Award. Cara will continue to ride her and compete her until such time as I decide to breed her.
