April 2013: Shki Doo is a super mover with a friendly, in-your-pocket disposition. He will make a great dressage or perhaps hunter prospect for someone looking for a friend to love.
Fall 2012: Shki-Doo was unable to be presented at our GOV inspection since he was still on stall rest from a minor surgery. He has made a full recovery since then. This colt is a pretty boy who will not be as tall as Sir James has matured to (17.1 hands). Wanda has tempered the height a bit. This may well be the best foal of the year if you are looking for a hunter prospect. His dam's sire and grandsire were both known for good juming ability, and Shki-Doo looks to have the type of movement desired for the hunter ring. Hunter is not my thing, but I have bred and sold 5 winners of the Young Hunter Under Saddle at Devon.
Photos are at 5 days old. Foaling report: I was scribing all day at the Festival of Champions in Gladstone, NJ. When I got home, we were supposed to go out to dinner with friends. I took one look at Wanda and said "no way". She was dripping milk and looking ready to go. She foaled at 12:01 am and I had hopes of getting some sleep before needing to wake up in time to drive back to Gladstone for the final day of scribing. This pretty colt got right up, pooped and found the milk bar. Yeah! I could go to sleep! NOT! Wanda proceeded to take 2 1/2 hours to pass the placenta. All is well. I got a few hours sleep and enjoyed my day scribing with caffeine in hand. This is another pretty Sir James foal. We sure are impressed with them.
SOLD!Congrats to Ashley of PA!
Shki-Doo is a worker bee who has the super rideability of his parents, plus three good gaits. It looks like he will have a cute jump, too. He is making so much progress under saddle!
