Premium, Foal of Distinction, presented as a stallion now gelded to be sold as a riding horse
Shtratego was deemed to be a bit immature looking at his stallion licensing, but since he is so good to ride, and I already have 2 other Shakespeare sons that have been licensed, I have decided to geld him and offer him for sale as a riding horse.
April 2013: In the spring we all get together to play Ceasar (thumbs up to keep as a stallion, thumbs down to geld). Shtratego passed unanimously from our tough staff. He has an amazing canter as well as a super trot and pure, big walk. Fall 2012:
This lovely colt is a full brother to Sharpshooter, who is an amazing riding horse that was sold to a customer who has FEI and Young Horse goals for him. Shtratego has a huge, ground covering canter and a trot that lifts off the ground. He will be tall, like his full brother.Birth report: Chee Chee is a sneaky mare, but she didn't fool me this time! Chee Chee is one of those mares that foals without her milk changing at all, and she has surprised us in the past, but not this time. We had her on camera with the birth alarm on. This colt was born quickly without any issues. He stood up right away and nursed quickly.
SOLD!Congrats to Carlie of MD!
I think gelding Shtratego was a good idea. He is softer over the back than he was and he can come under from behind without protecting his "jewels". He never was very stallion-like in his behavior so now we go forward and build strength for those big gaits of his.
