RIP, sweet boy!
Fhandango presented with a severe colic, most likely small intestine, on the morning of July 14. Pain meds did nothing and it was decided that surgery would be risky. He was put to sleep- it was the right decision.
This colt is a full brother to Fhinancier, winner of the Devon Horse Show Young Hunter Under Saddle a few years ago and now a winning hunter doing the high greens and winning everywhere. He has a huge canter, and has a very quiet and placid disposition. Fhandango had to have his huge umbilicus removed surgically. He has 100% completed his recovery time with no problems. Foaling report: Gharbo had this really tall colt easily, which is really amazing. I don't know how this foal was squished inside her. He is pretty much unfolded, but he has a really huge umbilicus that may need surgical removal. Meantime, we are watching him like a hawk, giving him antibiotics and dipping that stump all the time. Photos as soon as it stops raining.....
