Licensed for breeding by the GOV on July 23, now gelded
He was one of two homebred stallions licensed on July 23, 2012. I gelded him in the fall of 2013. I had to make a decision about whether or not to send a second stallion to the 2013 70 day stallion test in OK. I decided that, since I stand Shotgun's father, Shakespeare and it would cost another $15K to send him, I made the decision to geld him.
2009: Premium foal designation at our GOV inspection
Wow is all I can say about this one. the photographer commented that every shot she took was an easy one because he has so much air time. Look at his shoulder freedom! He has the "IT" factor- stallion prospect????
Foal report: A very tall and beautiful colt. Well, we are winding down now. Gunner perhaps looks more like his mother than any of the Shakespeare foals, but he still has the bay color and super movement. He is very uphill in his movement, with tthe right amount of knee. Pictures will be posted when it stops raining, if it ever does....
Shotgun was put to sleep on May 6, 2014. His left front foot foundered and the coffin bone was rotated, causing him immense pain.
I decided to geld Shotgun a few months ago. I had to make a decision on whether to send him to the 70 day stallion test at great expense since I was already sending Dheputy, plus I already own and bred Shotgun's sire. They would be in competition with each other in the breeding shed at Rolling Stone Farm. I know Shotgun will be a TOP competition horse. He can go either as a jumper prospect or as a dressage prospect.

Free jumping in 2013:
12/19/2013 Here he is just a few weeks after his recovery from the surgery to be gelded. He is starting to be a gelding now, and what a good one!
August 7, 2012 Well, we cut it to the wire as far as preparation for the stallion licensing with this boy. Shotgun had some sharp teeth points that were really bothering him after he lost some caps, so his training was delayed a bit until I could beg our horse dentist to make an emergency visit. So, he came home from the horse breaker a few weeks later than Dheputy, without even having been cantered under saddle yet. Therefore, he was also behind in the free jumping training. The German inspectors only come once a year, so we just bucked up and did it. What stars my two boys were! Shotgun and Dheputy, my two homebred stallions, were provisionally licensed. They will do the 70 day stallion test in 2013. Shakespeare RSF (a homebred) has a licensed stallion from his first foal crop that is also a homebred. I am a proud breeder!
