Premium colt and named one of the best movers of the day, now under saddle
Oh boy, this elegant gelding can still really MOVE! Now under saddle and VERY rideable!!!
2011: Shoho didn't get to show many steps of trot, but the ones he did were spectacular. Shoho's dam, EM Wolkenzauber (aka Wilma) is nearly blind, so Shoho wears a halter with a bell on it and they are turned out by themselves. The blindness was discovered after putting Wilma in foal to Sir James. She will go to a good home where she can have individual turnout and safely have her 2012 foal for her new owner. Wilma has been so trusting, she let Becca lead her around the riding ring at a trot so the judges could see Shoho go.
Foaling report: I woke up with a start from a sound sleep at 11:30 pm. I HAD to go out to the barn, even though all was quiet on the cameras. I checked Wilma (Wolkenzauber) and darn, if her milk didn't change from clear to cloudy in just a few hours since my last check at 10 pm! She foaled about a half hour later. Shoho is typical of Wilma's foals. He is of normal height, but needs some weight, since Wilma is on thyroid medicine. Look at the dish face he will have!
SOLD!Congratulations to Judy Whyte of MD!
After a 2 month recovery from double knee replacement surgery, I am finally able to start updating videos of the under saddle horses. Here is the first one: SHOHO!
Nov. 2014 Shoho is still a bit of a bean-pole, but he sure shows the gaits we saw from him as a foal, and the rideability is built in genetically, so that is not much of a surprise. Here he is just one week after returning from the breaker:
Shoho's dam, EM Wolkenzauber was inspected and performance tested
in Germany. At her inspection she received an overall 9.0 with 9's for
head, saddle position, frame, conformation, swing and elasticity at the
trot, and overall impression and development. She received 8's fo all of
her other scores, except for a 7 for the front leg. At her performance test,
she received a 9 for her trot, 8's for canter and walk, rideability and 7's
for both jumping form and ability. Her final score was 7.78. She was in
dressage training when I bought her. She had many very successful foals.
She is sired by Wolkenstein II who was Reserve Champion at the 1992
Hanoverian Stallion Licensing, German Champion Three-Year-Old Riding
Horse in 1993, and Champion of the 1993 Stallion Performance Test.
Shoho's sire, Shakespeare RSF was the clear Champion of his 70-
Day Stallion Performance Test held in 2009 in Oklahoma. He
achieved Class I status with a score of 130.53 points overall (this
score reflects a five percent deduction for being over four years
old). He also placed fifth for jumping with a final score of
105.31. In 2014, Shakespeare competed successfully at the Prix
St. Georges and Intermediate I levels, with scores up to 73.9%
and he was chosen to represent Germany at the Nations Cup in
Wellington, FL.
Shakespeare is 5th for USDF Horse of the Year for Intermediate I
with a median score of 71.623%.
From 2009 to the present, Shakespeare has had 51 GOV foals, of
which 42 have been named Premium, 15 have been named Foals
of Distinction, and 2 stallion prospects were named. As a young
stallion himself, he has already sired two stallions which have
been licensed by the GOV- in 2012 and in 2014. In 2011, he
sired the Reserve Champion Foal at Dressage at Devon. In 2014,
he was the sire of the Young Prospect Champion at Dressage at
Devon and he has produced multiple Champions and Grand
Champions in dressage breed shows.
