Born at Jeannette Leroux's farm to fullfill the sales agreement for EM Ghranada.
Now under saddle and what a mover!
Well, I didn't meet Digger or see him move until the Hanoverian inspection at Hedgeland on October 11. He didn't show much to the judges in the ring there. Poor baby was weaned, put on the horse trailer and brought home to PA. The video shows the first time out in the round pen and wow, were Jim and I pleasantly surprised! He has the Shakespeare movement too! See the new conformation photos taken in Nov. The ones from the inspection were too dark.'
Foaling report: Jeannette reports that all went wll with the birth. He will be inspected in the fall at the Hedgeland inspection on Oct. 11. His birth makes Ghranada a new Elite Mare- yet another one sired by Gold Luck!
SOLD!Congratulations Debbie Higgins of MD!
Digger is turning out to be a real athlete. Shown are his first and second time free jumping, and also a clinic in NJ with Gigi Nutter, who is a fantastic instructor. She was my riding instructor for many years when I was still riding. Digger handled the trailer ride and the strange indoor ring like a pro. He requires a rider that will allow him to go forward and not be restrictive in the contact. With the right kind of rider, I think he has the potential to go all the way in dressage or perhaps jumper (????). What an athlete!
6/2013 Digger is progressing nicely even though he is the greenest of the 4 year olds going under saddle. He is learning to balance those big gaits of his. Sometimes he moves so big, he can't keep his front end balanced with all of that power from behind. This is especially difficult for him in corners. He is learning how to bend in the corners and be straighter on the long sides. I think he will be a really good when his balance catches up with his big gaits.
March 2013 Digger is home from the breaker and he is learning to go on the bit and be in a dressage frame. He is very good from behind, is medium sized and he shows a lot of potential.
