Foaling report: Well, we were on high alert for Rhwanda who looks like she should foal any second, we had a birth alarm on Wanda and cameras on Lhibrarian, Wanda and Gharbo.On one of my many wakeful moments to check the cameras, what should I see but a foal in Marion's stall. It's a girl (finally- the colts have outnumbered the fillies 10- 3 prior to this one being born). She is pretty, long legged and appears very vigorous. Marion has the na-na-ne-boo-boo look on her face!

Inspection Comments

Fhlicka was unable to do the Mare Performance Test in 2013 because of a hoof abscess, so out in the field she went. We brought her back in just a few months before the MPT date and re-started her. She had been really green when we stopped riding her last year and was still really green for the MPT this year. She was a good girl for the test, and rapid progress under saddle has been made since then. Here is the latest under saddle video from November:

Fhlicka's sire, Fuerst Romancier received the top mark of 9.0 in
walk, trot and canter at the 70 day test. He was awarded a 9.0
and 9.5 for rideability. Sire Fuerst Heinrich was himself crowned
World Champion as a five year old in 2003. With an above average breeding index of 160 points he is ranked as one of the leading dressage sires in the German Federation’s breeding evaluation. The dam’s sire Romancier adds – as the half brother to Rubinstein – the precious Rosenkavalier into the equation.
Furst Romancier descends from one of the most successful Oldenburg mare lines: the Edoste. Numerous licensed stallions have emerged from this line. At the 2011 Oldenburg stallion licensing Fuerst Romancier presented their Champion Stallion, For Romance, who was sold for the sensational price of 750,000 Euros. In the summer of 2012, the full sister of For Romance, Fastine, was named the Champion Mare of the Oldenburg region at Rastede. Fuerst Romancier was the most successful stallion of his age group at the World Championships for 5 year old Dressage Horses in 2009. He is now ranked in the top 1% of all German
Dressage Sires for the FN with 157 points.

Fhlicka's dam, Elite Mare Lhibrarian was the top scoring Hanoverian mare at her mare inspection and she was the top
scoring mare in the MPT. For her inspection, she received an
overall score of 8.0 with 8's for head, foreleg, hindleg, conformation, typiness and femininity, correctness of gaits and overall impression and development. She received a 9 for her
walk and 7's for everything else. In the under saddle portion of the test, she got a 9 for the walk, and 8 for the trot, canter, and rideability for a total score of 7.69. She did this all as a green broke 3 year old. She ended up in second place for the American
Hanoverian Society Walter Hartwig Award for 2008.
