Read these series of articles that appeared in The Hunt magazine to promote attendance at Dressage at Devon. They are cleverly written! (I may be a bit biased....) The first one, published 7/15: http://thehuntmagazine.com/feature/2011/07/shilhouette/#axzz1YAcV7i35

Shetan-   2011 Oldenburg Colt
 sire  Shakespeare RSF      dam  Whitesinvogue
Owned by:   Sandra Laprise

This is an example of what a good deal I can offer to buyers of my older broodmares. I have them reasonably priced (usually priced less than the value of the foal they are carrying), they are in foal, I offer a live foal return guarantee for one year on the foal they are carrying and I offer a half price breeding with a one year live foal return guarantee for the next year. In exchange, I ask that you take the foal to a GOV inspection for evaluation and registration and that you give my mare a good permanent home. Sandra Laprise took advantage of my offer in 2010 and this is the colt she ended up with. Not too shabby! Shetan was named Premium Foal, Foal of Distinction and was named the top foal at the Rideauwood GOV inspection in Canada. She has bred Vogue to her own stallion and has that foal sold in utero already. Contact me to find out which mares are available for sale IN FOAL this year or look to the left side of this website home page. Go to Sales Horses- Available Horses- Broodmares.

I didn't bother to post the results any sooner, because I was waiting for the photos. Shilhouette won her class (only entry), Shwatch won his class (only entry), Shilhouette was named Foal Champion and Shwatrch was Reserve Champion. Good thing we had fun with such a great group of people there, and the ribbons are beautiful. The photos are awesome. Photo credit: Susan Stickle. Thanks Sue and Jonna for the photos and thanks Jen Vanover and Tommy for the fun show!

I am a glutton for punishment, because the day after our GOV inspection, we went to a Dressage Sport Horse Breed Show at Bucks County Horse Park. It seemed like a good idea when I was filling out the entry form.... A very successful day, anyway! photos by Stephen Crowers Photography

Shakespeare RSF and John Chosen for Developing Dressage Horse program

John rode Shakespeare in a Debbie McDonald clinic at Hassler Dressage (thank you for the invitation, Scott!). At that time, Debbie said she was really impressed with them both and so she invited John and Shakespeare to a training session held at the USEF Team Headquarters at Gladstone. The lessons were super. They worked on Tempi changes, passage, piaffe, working pirouettes and the good old basics of straightness and throughness. and Debbie said that Shakespeare has it all- and that he should be Grand Prix and competitive by 9 years old. I will put up video, I promise, but here is a photo of Shakespeare in his stall at Gladstone. John and Shakespeare are on their way! Whoot!

SOLD! Dhijon and John competed at the LVDA recognized Dressage Show on August 21st. They received a 70.714% at training level test 2 and a whopping 75.2% at training level test 3. They were the training level champion, the high score of the show and John was the high score LVDA member. Not too bad for a 4 year old at his second recognized show!

Chronicle article about Somer Hit and me as breeder!

Look at the article in the June 27, 2011 issue of the Chronicle of the Horse. It mentions me as breeder of Somer Hit and the fact that he is a product of four generations of breeding from my program. I bred his mother (EM Rhussia), I bought his grandmother (Alure) as a two year old and I ended up with his great grandmother (Eden) to breed also. We also had other successful horses at that show-

2011 ESDCTA Memorial Day Weekend Dressage Show

It is an ambitious endeavor to bring 4 horses to a three day show (two of them being breeding stallions). It also takes a village of people helping to pull it all off. John rode his buns off, and as usual, impressed us all with his great riding. Nicki, RSF assistant trainer, was an awesome groom, assisted by her boyfriend, Dave and her good friend Eleanor. John's mom, Deb and his girlfriend, Beth also helped. I drove back and forth to the show grounds and drove the trailer, and meanwhile bred mares at home and delivered a foal. Ok, remind me and John about this when we enter the next horse show....

RSF clinic participation in the next few weeks

Rolling Stone Farm horses will be participating in quite a few clinics in the next few weeks. John, Shakespeare and Fhitzgerald will go to a clinic with Lars Peterson in NJ at Stone Horse Farm on April 9th. John and Whalter have been selected to participate in the Young Dressage Horse Training sessions offered by the USEF. It will be conducted by Scott Hassler at Hassler Dressage on April 13 and 14. Too bad that John will only be able to ride one horse. We also applied for Rhyan, Whellington and Dhijon, but Rhyan sold and there were so many horse/rider combinations that applied, we were asked to choose just one horse. Whalter is the oldest of the three, so I chose him to go. My former wonderful instructor, Gigi (Hood) Nutter returns to our area. She will work with Nicki, John and a few of my riding students at Rolling Stone Farm on Friday, April 14th before moving over to another barn to do clinics for the LVDA on Saturday and Sunday. This will be Nicki's first clinic opportunity for RSF. She is working out great, and I will now sign her up for more clinics and shows riding RSF horses. Nicki is doing a super job breaking the 3 year olds and sharing the riding with John on the young horses. John and Shakespeare have been selected for the Michael Klimke clinic at Hassler Dressage on April 16-17. This is an open clinic, so if you are interested in auditing, you can sign up on the Hassler Dressage website. John is looking forward to working with Michael again. He worked with him riding on Shakespeare at the Dressage Symposium at Maplewood Warmbloods last year. Showing will most likely start for us at the ESDCTA Memorial Weekend Show at the NJ Horse Park. Hopefully not too many foals decide to be born that weekend so I can go and watch and help. Two RSF horses sold this week. Sheyenne was bought by Beth Lambert of NJ and Rhyan was bought by Caelin McGogney of PA. Congratulations and best wishes for your future partnership!

Hi Mo! I wanted to let you know that Shugar is doing great. She has settled into her new home and is developing quite nicely. Her personality is really coming out as well and she is a real sweetie(living up to her name!) She has discovered treats of all sorts and is being totally spoiled-but definitely not spoiled rotten. Thank you so much for working with us. I know selling horses is a pain in the neck and I feel that you went above and beyond what is customary. I haven't bought a horse in many years and it was quite unnerving for me. I'm not sure I would've made it without your help. It was so worth the angst! Thank you again and take care, Lawson Hi Mo, We got home at 2am this morning, not sure if Michelle let you know or not. Rhasberry trailered like a pro and is already settled in! She is quiet the hit at the barn, very socialable! Thanks for everything, Debbie and Maggie Hi Mo, Thanks again for all your help, I will definitely be in touch the next time we're looking for a young horse. Michelle

SOLD! We took Whellington and Whalter to a schooling dressage show at the NJ Horse Park on Saturday, 2/26/2011. It was Whellington's third time off the farm, and his first ever time in a dressage ring. Both boys did great. They loaded and trailered like pros, stood in the trailer while the other one was ridden and went into the ring like experienced show horses. Whellington and Whalter competed against each other in training level tests 2 & 3. Whellington placed first in both classes with the amazing scores of 73.214% and 69.6%. He received 8's on gaits and harmony in both tests, along with quite a few 8's scattered throughtout the tests. Whellington was slightly behind the vertical at times, but otherwise, we were thrilled with his first time horse show experience.

Videos are up of the foals and Jim and I are still married after videotaping 24 foals

On the website are videos of the foals at the GOV inspection where we received an unbelievable 22 Premium Foal awards out of 24 foals presented. The judges were from Germany, and they said it would be unbelievable even in Germany to have this many Premiums from one farm. They commented (as I have) on the consistancy of the foals by Shakespeare and they were pleased to see very good quality from the first Fhitzgerald foals. Especially noted were their very good walks. There is also video from the round pen at home where the other big news is that Jim and I are still talking to each other. Have you ever tried to video foals? It can be really stressful! They never cooperate fully and show everything they are capable of. It is hard not to swear out loud or take out your frustrations on your spouse!
